In a brutal incident, Junior resident doctors of surgery department at BHU were assaulted badly with iron roads and many have sustained serious injuries.
The reason of the assault is the Non-availability of the bed in the hospital.
A female patient arrived at the hospital in the afternoon but due to unavailability of bed, regular admission was put on hold till evening which was explained to the patient’s attendants. But after sometime the attendants got angry and started abusing the resident doctors working there. The dispute was resolved with the intervention of the security guards. But after sometime the attendants came with a group of 15-20 people and started assaulting the junior doctors working there with iron rods. Many have got seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
When is this Violence against the Medical professionals going to end?
Everyone needs a bed, everyone needs a doctor and a nurse and the other machines, the ventilators, the oxygen masks and rest. We want American or European standard of nursing care but hardly any resources are put into it.
Now getting angry on a doctor in all this mess, how legitimate is that?
Still the Doctors will advise the best line of treatment but doing that treatment needs all kinds of resources, both the manpower, beds and machines.
A patient will ask for immediate care and failure of that will make the tempers go high, which everyone finds convenient to vent that out on the doctors.
It’s the same situation across the nation. Instead of blaming the governments to provide more resources, we the people are busy to target those who are easy to target.
Everyone is focused on bringing in more regulations, increasing number of doctors in the country but what will a doctor do without the supporting staff, without ventilators, oxygen masks, instruments, medicines and all. Can any regulation help them with that?
Providing treatment is not so easy, understand the exact reasons and put demand to correct those reasons.
Allow them to work in a peaceful environment so as to give their best to save your lives.
