When the head of your country prefer to label you black, it is really difficult to have better expectations from the rest of the country.
Replying to a question on Ayushman Bharat in London, PM Modi said : “It will lead to more than 1000 hospitals in tier I and tier II cities”.
Further commenting on the drugs and generic medicines, he said: “ Doctors get money to prescribe drugs, they go on junkets to Dubai and Singapore under the guise of medical conferences. They don't go there for sick people. Pharma companies organize them because it is essential for them to do it. We have started generic drugs at a fraction of the cost through Jan Ausdhi Stores.”
It is not the first time that the PM has spoken such a thing about doctors but probably it is the first time he has done it in a FOREIGN LAND.
It is more critical this time because Indian doctors are considered one the best across the world and if such an image is being projected outside then it is not going to help either the Indian pharmaceutical industry or the medical tourism, it’s doctors or the country itself.
Instead projecting a high quality, cheap treatment and an expert medical professional community will certainly help the country and will motivate it’s doctors to further work hard to become the most renowned in the world.
