A young doctor posted in emergency ward duty at RNT medical college, Udaipur succumbed to the infection he contracted while treating diarrhea patients.
There has been a spurt of gastroenteritis cases because of the hot weather .
Dr Pavan was posted in emergency ward duty, after which he had lunch with his friends and went to his room for rest.
His condition suddenly deteriorated with loose motions and vomiting. At 3.00pm he knocked his friend’s door and fell down and was found pulseless and BP less.
He was immediately taken to the ICU and fluid management was started but there wasn’t any response. A whole team of senior doctors was there trying to manage the condition but ECG after 1/2hrs showed changes of myocarditis. Shortly thereafter, he developed recurrent episodes of VT which were not reverted by all possible drugs and DCS.
Admitted to Micu .only 4/5 Episodes of loose motion vomiting was there which in ayoung person cant develops hypotension. 3litre fluid was given immediately but no response. Ŕepeat ECG after 1/2hrs was showing changes of myocarditis.and then he developed recurrent episodes of VT which were not reverted by all possible drugs and DCS.
A full team of physicians and all other consultants with 100 resident doctors were there all the time to manage him but still we could not save our beloved resident doctor.
