A woman Medical officer who died of Breast cancer 6months back, finally gets approval for Voluntary retirement in Maharashtra.
Pushpa Wamanrao Salunke (49), who was working as a medical officer at the sub-district hospital in Hingoli district, had applied for voluntary retirement in 2016 after completing 20 years of service as she was suffering from breast cancer.
Incidentally, the government had sanctioned the plea by the woman’s husband—a doctor by profession—filed on the same grounds but declined the woman’s plea to avail voluntray retirement citing flimsy technical reasons.
Salunke then approached the administrative tribunal challenging the move, which gave the verdict in her favour and directing the government to grant her retirement.
However, the government still did not accept her application. She approached the tribunal again through her lawyer seeking fresh directions. Finally government granted her voluntary retirement, though Salunke died 6months back in june.
